Rodolfo Gil Grimau (1932-2008)
He was the son of the writer and senator Rodolfo Gil Fernandez. On his mother side, he was descendant of a Granada family of Moresque origin.
He had a degree in Philosophy by the University of Madrid. He also studied in Argel, Paris and Tunez, researching Hispano-Arab history. He felt at home in countries such as Morocco and Egypt, where he worked for some time. From 1962 he worked at the Press Office of the Egyptian Embassy in Madrid, and in 1996 he received the Order of the Egypcian Republic. In 1970 he received the Spanish honour Commander of the African Order.
