Elena Martínez Blanco

Elena Martínez Blanco is passionate about literature. She thinks that, as a little girl, she must have been given a lot of spaghetti letters to eat, because words have been a part of her life ever since she can remember. She teachers English Language and Literature, is a member of SCBWI (The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators) and president of the cultural association Tiramisú Entre Libros (Tiramisu Book Club). She likes nothing better than getting a child or adolescent interested in reading and she loves it when ex-students come back to ask for recommendations. She lives in Tres Cantos (Madrid) in a library-house with her daughter Nuria and a ghost they have given the name Jimmy. She owns the bookshop, Serendipias, which has become an institution in the region, for its selection of books, and its activities for children.
