From the darkest Barcelona, comes a thriller with devlish pace. Eva Valverde is a pick-pocket, she has two income streams and dresses in Prada. Besides stealing wallets on the metro and on the streets of the Gothic quarter, she burgles tourist apartments in a Barcelona that is more crowded by the day. She doesn't do this out of necessity but rather to maintain a standard of living that she couldn't hope to aspire to any other way. However, being a pickpocket isn't as easy as it seems. After years carefully constructing her perfect life, she loses it all in a single day when she is extorted by a blackmailing jeweller. All the stress pushes her into re-kindling a relationship with her ex-lover. But Oleg has his own problems. Throughout the novel both of these characters fight to escape the trap that they themselves have created. "In the Blood" is a cross-roads for turbulent stories set in a Barcelona where tourists, thieves and people of all backgrounds share more than they might appear to.
