Prince Seraphim turns on its head the ideas of stereotypical gender models that have characterized traditional children's literature. With a co-educational background, the story promotes the values of tolerance, respect, freedom and equal opportunities, in a society free of discrimination and sexist attitudes. It breaks down gender prejudices using traditional characters who appear in children's literature. Seraphim sleeps in a pink room, and wants to find true love and get married, thinking that his destiny is what tradition dictates. Far from being the prototype of a brave, strong, saving and rescuing hero, he is a sensitive prince, who cries and waits to be rescued. There is no sweet, beautiful and delicate princess waiting for him, but instead a model of a strong and independent woman.
